Written exam
The written exam aims to determine the level of general knowledge and study prerequisites that the candidate has. We recommend starting here https://www.scio.cz to begin preparation. Because our program is about interpreting to and from Czech and Czech Sign Language, we will also test the candidate’s comprehension of a short Czech text. There will also be several questions to test the basic knowledge of the topics, Deaf community, Deaf culture and sign language interpreting. Below are some recommended sources for preparation of these topics.
Individual Interview
The interview follows the results of the written exam. Examiners may ask additional questions to help evaluate the candidate’s results on the written exam. The candidate’s motivational letter can also be discussed. No previous knowledge of Czech Sign Language is expected, but basic awareness or skills is an advantage.
